Energocom to submit request to adjust gas tariffs this week, Minister of Energy says

This week, Energocom is to submit to the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) the request regarding the adjustment of natural gas tariffs paid by end consumers. Minister of Energy Dorin Junghietu made the statement today.

After the request is submitted, ANRE will analyze the data and come up with a final draft regarding the new tariffs.

“During this week, Energocom will submit to ANRE the request to adjust gas tariffs. ANRE will then issue its position within the timeframe it has under the regulations,” the official stated.

The Minister of Energy avoided commenting on the price level, mentioning that this is ANRE’s responsibility.

“It is hard to say whether it will be by one leu, two; we will see after ANRE checks the calculations and the figures that Energocom will present for approval,” the minister underlined.

On Tuesday, January 27, ANRE approved the basic costs of Energocom related to its natural gas supply activity for the year 2026. This represents a mandatory stage before Energocom submits to ANRE the request to adjust gas tariffs paid by end consumers.

The last modification of natural gas tariffs paid by end consumers was approved at the end of November 2024. Currently, citizens pay 15.50 lei (excluding VAT) for one cubic meter of gas.
