President congratulated all Romanians on Romania's National Day

The Presidency of the Republic of Moldova

Head of State Maia Sandu sent a congratulatory message to Romania, which today celebrates National Day. Maia Sandu emphasized the importance of the historical moment of December 1, 1918, and the values that underpinned the Great Union.

“Today we celebrate the historical moment of December 1, 1918 – a moment that more than a century ago paved the way for peace, freedom, and democracy for the Romanian people. However, these values are now more threatened than ever,” the Head of State said.

Maia Sandu also pointed out that it is our duty to honor with actions the efforts and sacrifices of those who made the historic decision at Alba Iulia possible. “We must defend their legacy so that we can leave our children and grandchildren a Romanian space where they can live freely, with dignity and respect for national values,” the Head of State added.
