Moldovan PM visits Nicolai Tretiakov theoretical lyceum from Comrat

Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu has visited Nicolai Tretiakov Theoretical Lyceum of Comrat. As many as 911 presently study at this institution, where teaching is conducted in Russian.

The PM discussed with students and teaching staff, emphasizing that improving educational conditions in institutions across the country stayed a priority for the government. The Education and Research Ministry (MEC) and the United Nations International Emergency Fund for Children (UNICEF) aim to expand the number of play and learning centers of the country and promote the inclusion of children in early education institutions.

Such a center has rece4nyly been opened at Nicolai Tretiakov Theoretical Lyceum, which is meant for children with disabilities as well. The center promotes learning through play and the socio and emotional development of children. In the last three years, over 36 centers have been established at kindergartens and community centers across all regions of the country.

At the same time, the high school in Comrat is part of the Class of the Future network of schools and a beneficiary of the Gigabit Internet for Your School programme, which ensures high-performance internet connectivity. Students have a modern educational space equipped with advanced technologies. With the help of electronic circuit kits, digital laboratories, 3D printers, digital microscopes, and VR glasses, students learn STEM disciplines (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) more interactively and practically.

The launch of the new space was made possible thanks to the support of the MEC, local authorities, the Future Technologies Project, and the coordination of the National Center for Digital Innovations in Education, Class of the Future. The Class of the Future network currently includes over 130 schools.
