30 MW photovoltaic park with 60 MWh storage system to be built in Vadul lui Vodă
The Government has authorized the construction of a photovoltaic power plant with an installed capacity of 30 MW and a battery storage system with a capacity of 60 MWh in the town of Vadul lui Vodă, Chișinău municipality.
The project will cover an area of 40.7 hectares and will contribute to increasing local renewable energy production and strengthening the energy security of the Republic of Moldova.
The storage system, planned for 2027, will be able to supply the accumulated energy at maximum power for approximately two hours. It will help balance the power system and enable the integration of a larger share of energy generated from renewable sources.
The project supports the achievement of the objectives of the Energy Strategy of the Republic of Moldova until 2030, including emission reduction, the use of land that is not employed in agriculture, and increasing the resilience of the energy system.
