Prime Minister Vasile Tofan today met the members of the Moldova Innovation Technology Park (MITP) Council. The discussions focused on the industry’s priorities for the coming period and on the measures needed to maintain a competitive environment that encourages investment, innovation and business development.

The PM stressed that the IT sector is one of the most dynamic and important for the economy of Moldova, playing an essential role in attracting investments, creating well-paid jobs and accelerating the country’s digital transformation.

“The government will be a partner and an ally of the companies in this sector, so that they can continue to grow and successfully compete on international markets, in a field that is evolving at an unprecedented speed,” said Prime Minister Vasile Tofan.

Moldova Innovation Technology Park is the first e-park in Europe, bringing together more than 2,500 resident companies. The park provides a competitive tax regime, based on a single 7-per cent tax applied to sales revenue, reduces administrative barriers and facilitates the attraction of international specialists.
