DOC New director of State Protection and Guard Service of Moldova appointed today
Chisinau, Nov. 1 /MOLDPRES/- Vasile Popa is the new director of the State Protection and Guard Service of Moldova (SPPS). President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu signed a decree to this effect today.
Since 2020, Vasile Popa has served as deputy head of the institution. In 2006, he was awarded the Military Merit Medal and in 2023 he was awarded the special rank of Major General of the SPPS. Previously, Popa was Maia Sandu's bodyguard.
Today, the head of state signed a decree on appointing Gheorghe Josan as deputy head of SPPS.
