ELECTIONS 2025 // National Union Bloc of Moldova starts electoral campaign for parliamentary elections

The National Union Bloc, made up of the HOME National Reunification Party and the National Liberal Party, officially launched their electoral campaign today. The event took place at the Cascade Stairs in the Mills’ Valley Park and brought together leaders of both formations, candidates for the MP positions, as well as numerous supporters.

The bloc's representatives reaffirmed their central political goal – the unification of the Republic of Moldova with Romania. In their speeches from the podium, leaders emphasized that the unification would bring concrete economic and social benefits for the citizens of Moldova and pave the way for quick integration into the European Union.

Anatol Țăranu, a member of the National Union Bloc, said: "One of the first actions we will undertake, which our bloc's faction will undertake, will be the initiative for the law declaring the Republic of Moldova a Romanian state. The fraternity treaty means a common economic space with Romania."

At the same time, candidates promised reforms in the economic field, investments meant to create well-paid jobs and measures to improve quality of life, focusing on the social protection of pensioners.

Through this message, the National Union Bloc aims to convey to the electorate that the European integration and the prosperity of Moldova are only possible through a definitive rapprochement with Romania and leveraging a shared national identity.

On August 29, the electoral campaign for parliamentary elections started in Moldova. The Central Electoral Commission registered 21 electoral competitors, including four blocs; 13 parties and four independent candidates.
