Moldovan deputy PM has discussions with high EU official in Brussels

The progress of the process of negotiations for accession to the European Union, the reforms implemented and the priorities for the upcoming period were discussed by Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov and European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos in Brussels today.

The deputy PM said that Moldova stayed firmly committed to the path of European integration and continues to promote reforms aimed at delivering concrete results for citizens.

“We discussed the reforms we have managed to implement at home so far, the developments in the accession negotiation process, and the objectives for the next period. Moldova stays firmly committed to advancing on its European path and to delivering concrete results that people can feel in their daily lives,” said Cristina Gherasimov.



The official thanked the European Commission for the support provided to Moldova in the EU accession process and for the assistance offered to the Moldovan authorities in implementing reforms. At the same time, Cristina Gherasimov specified that she extended an official invitation to the European Commissioner for Enlargement to pay a visit to Chisinau in the near future.



Also, at the invitation of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU, Cristina Gherasimov took part in the meeting of the Working Party on Enlargement and Countries Negotiating Accession to the European Union (COELA). During the discussions, the deputy prime minister presented the progress achieved by Moldova on Cluster 4 – Green agenda and sustainable connectivity – and Cluster 5 – Resources, agriculture and cohesion, as part of the negotiation process for EU accession.
