Moldovan Ambassador to Japan presented copies of letters of credence

Moldova's Ambassador-designate to Japan Sergiu Mihov presented copies of his letters of credence to Chief of Protocol of Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tadayuki Miyashita.

During the meeting, the officials exchanged views on Moldovan-Japanese bilateral relations and the prospects for their revitalization. Sergiu Mihov reiterated the Moldovan authorities’ gratitude for the multidimensional assistance and support provided by Japan over the years, reflected in major development projects in priority sectors for our country.

The Moldovan diplomat also outlined the priorities of his mandate as Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Japan, expressing interest in intensifying the bilateral political dialogue, deepening trade and economic relations, and establishing and strengthening sectoral and interinstitutional cooperation.

The Chief of Protocol wished Ambassador Sergiu Mihov success on assuming this important mandate, assuring him of the full support of the Japanese authorities in expanding and deepening bilateral relations between the Republic of Moldova and Japan.

Sergiu Mihov is a career diplomat with more than 27 years of experience within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He has worked in both bilateral and multilateral cooperation, including at the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Moldova to the Council of Europe. Sergiu Mihov has held leadership positions within the MAE and has previously served as Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to the Republic of Lithuania.
