LIVE // PMs of Moldova, Romania hold news conference

Prime Minister of Romania Luca Niculescu and Prime Minister of Moldova Vasile Tofan are holding a news conference.

Luca Niculescu is making his first official visit to Moldova today. The Romanian PM will be received by President Maia Sandu and will meet Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu.

The visit's agenda also includes a trip by the two prime ministers to the Chisinau Electrical Substation, part of the Vulcanesti–Chisinau Line project, located in the Braila suburb of the Chisinau municipality.

The visit began today morning with a working meeting with the staff of the Consulate General of Romania in Chisinau. The Romanian prime minister subsequently met His Eminence Antonie, Archbishop of Chisinau, Metropolitan of Bessarabia and Exarch of the Regions and held a meeting with the staff of the Embassy of Romania in Moldova.

The morning agenda also included a meeting with representatives of Romanian companies carrying out investment projects in Moldova.

The parliament of Romania approved the investiture of the government led by Luca Niculescu on October 20, 2026.
