President Maia Sandu today was welcomed by Hungarian President András Baka at Sándor Palace in Budapest. The visit is taking place at an invitation by Prime Minister Péter Magyar, to attend commemorative events marking 70 years since the 1956 anti-communist Revolution, alongside other heads of state and government.
During the visit, President Maia Sandu will have meetings with high-ranking officials. The discussions will focus on bilateral relations, including economic cooperation, Moldova’s European path and regional security.
This is President Maia Sandu’s first visit to Hungary. In 2020, the two countries signed a strategic partnership declaration, which provides for Hungary’s support for Moldova’s European integration and the development of economic cooperation.
