The agenda of the visit also includes a visit by the two prime ministers to the Chisinau Electrical Station, part of the Vulcanesti–Chisinau Line project, located in the Braila suburb of the Chisinau municipality.

During the visit, Luca Niculescu will meet President Maia Sandu and Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu. At the end of his meeting with the speaker, the Romanian prime minister will sign in the parliament’s Book of Honor.

The visit began with a working meeting with the staff of the Consulate General of Romania in Chisinau. Afterwards, the Romanian prime minister met His Eminence Antonie, Archbishop of Chisinau, Metropolitan of Bessarabia and Exarch of the Regions, as well as the staff of Romania’s Embassy in Moldova.

The morning agenda also included a meeting with representatives of Romanian companies carrying out investment projects in Moldova.

The parliament of Romania approved the investiture of the government led by Luca Niculescu on October 20, 2026.

Luca Niculescu’s first official visit as prime minister takes place in the context of the bilateral cooperation between Moldova and Romania and the continuation of joint projects. During a phone call on October 21, Vasile Tofan invited his Romanian counterpart to visit Moldova, with the two discussing the strengthening of relations between the two countries.
