Moldovan Prime Minister in talks with Ukrainian President
Regional security, European integration, and the development of joint infrastructure projects were the main topics discussed by Prime Minister Vasile Tofan with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during their meeting held today in Kyiv.
The two officials addressed road and railway infrastructure projects, including the development of connections via the bridges between the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine. These investments aim to improve transport links between the two countries, facilitate the movement of citizens and goods, and promote trade.
In the area of security, discussions focused on strengthening cooperation and sharing experience between the two states in order to improve their capacity to protect citizens from current threats.
Another topic of the meeting was the European path of the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine. The officials discussed the continuation of reforms and cooperation in the process of integration into the European Union.
“Moldova and Ukraine want the same thing: peace, development, and a safe and prosperous future for our citizens,” Tofan said.
Tofan reaffirmed the Republic of Moldova’s firm support for Ukraine’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, emphasizing the importance of restoring a just and lasting peace that would ensure security and stability in the region.
