Speaker: Moldova made progress in all 33 EU negotiation chapters

The Republic of Moldova has made progress in all 33 negotiation chapters with the European Union over the past year, and the authorities intend to maintain the pace of reforms in order to conclude the accession negotiations by early 2028. Speaker Igor Grosu made the statement at the opening of today’s plenary session of Parliament.

The Speaker said that the report on the Republic of Moldova reflects the work carried out over the past year to align the country with European Union standards and emphasized that the progress achieved is the result of the efforts made by thousands of employees of state institutions.

“The report on the Republic of Moldova reflects the work carried out over the past year to align the country with European Union standards, and the figures speak for themselves. Over the past year, Moldova has made progress in all 33 negotiation chapters. This is the result of tremendous work, the reforms we are implementing, and the efforts made by thousands of people in state institutions,” Igor Grosu said.

He thanked everyone involved in the reform process and reiterated the authorities’ commitment to continuing efforts toward the country’s European integration.

“I thank everyone who works day after day to ensure that Moldova becomes a member state of the European Union, as we promised,” the Speaker said.

Grosu also noted that, in the period ahead, the authorities will make efforts to maintain the current pace of reforms, with the objective of concluding the accession negotiations by early 2028.

On Wednesday, November 4, the European Commission published its 2026 Enlargement Report, which includes an assessment of the progress made by the Republic of Moldova in the accession process. European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos said that the Republic of Moldova is accelerating the pace of reforms and that the European Union could issue an opinion on the country’s progress in the accession process by late 2026.
