MEP: Moldova to receive 300 million euros pre-financing from Growth Plan
The Republic of Moldova will shortly receive 300 million euros as pre-financing from the 1.9 billion euro Growth Plan. The announcement was made by President of the European Parliament Delegation for relations with the Republic of Moldova Siegfried Mureșan, who had a discussion in Brussels today with Prime Minister Dorin Recean.
Siegfried Mureșan mentioned that the money will be invested in infrastructure, roads, schools, hospitals, kindergartens.
“I am confident that Prime Minister Dorin Recean will know how to manage this money well. He will ensure that the funds will quickly reach the people in need, through investments in infrastructure, roads, schools, hospitals, kindergartens. This was the main topic of my discussion with Prime Minister Dorin Recean today in Brussels,” stated the MEP.
The official assured that our country will continue to receive support in the European integration process.
“We will stand by the Republic of Moldova, just as they have stood by us. We will defend together the European path of the Republic of Moldova and Romania's European path,” Mureșan concluded.
The Growth Plan worth 1.9 billion euros is the most extensive support package ever offered to the Republic of Moldova by the European Union. It includes two essential components: a comprehensive agenda of structural reforms and a substantial package of public investments. The reforms aim at modernizing the administration, developing a competitive business environment, combating corruption, increasing transparency in public funds management, and ensuring equitable access to education, healthcare services, and social protection. In parallel, the investments will contribute to rehabilitating transport infrastructure, modernizing energy networks, digitizing public services, constructing regional hospitals, and supporting agriculture and strategic industries.
