Nominal Composition of Commission for awarding of National Prize for 2025 year announced in Moldova

The government today approved the nominal composition of the Commission for Awarding the National Prize for the 2025 year.

The National Prize is awarded annually by the government, as a sign of recognition and gratitude for outstanding results with a major impact on scientific progress, which have significantly contributed to promoting the country's image both nationally and internationally.

The winners of the National Prize receive a financial reward of 100,000 lei, a diploma and a medal.

“The National Prize is one of the most prestigious awards. Therefore, its awarding must be carried out by a competent, impartial and representative commission. Thus, a nominal composition of the Commission is proposed, based on the expertise, extensive experience and outstanding professional reputation of the proposed members. Their selection was made carefully, in order to reflect the diversity of fields and ensure an objective evaluation,” Secretary General of the Ministry of Culture, Ana Varzari said at the cabinet meeting.

Thus, the president of the Commission will be Prime Minister Dorin Recean, and vice president - Minister of Culture, Sergiu Prodan. At the same time, the Commission will be made up of 15 members, including: Minister of Education and Research, Dan Perciun, Minister of Health, Ala Nemerenco, Director General of the State Agency for Intellectual Property, Eugeniu Rusu, President of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, Ion Tighineanu, Rector of the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova, Alexandru Stratan, Rector of the State University of Moldova Igor Sarov, Head of the Department of Surgery No. 1 “Nicolae Anestiade”, University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Nicolae Testemitanu”, Gheorghe Rojnoveanu, Director of the National Museum of Romanian Literature, Maria Sleahtitchi, Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Academic Choral Chapel Doina, National Philharmonic “Serghei Lunchevici”, Ilona Stepan, President of the Writers' Union of Moldova, Teodor Chiriac, Director General of the National Art Museum of Moldova Tudor Zbarnea, Director General of the National Theater Mihai Eminescu, Petru Hadarca, President of the Filmmakers' Union of Moldova, Virgiliu Margineanu, Director of the National Sports Training Center, Nicolai Ceban, and President of the Non-Governmental Organization “Gender-Centru”, Valentina Bodrug-Lungu.

The National Prize was established in 2012, and over the years, the awards have been provided to numerous prominent personalities of Moldova.
