Moldovan deputy parliament speaker says Moldova's path to European Union passes through Bucharest
Parliament Deputy Speaker Doina Gherman has had meetings with members of the Committee for European Affairs of the Romanian Senate in Bucharest.
At the discussions, the sides addressed topics related to bilateral cooperation, Romania's support for European integration of Moldova, as well as the mobilization of Moldovan citizens with Romanian citizenship in the context of the presidential elections in Romania.
The Moldovan official thanked the Bucharest authorities for their constant support over the years, including in the fields of education, infrastructure and energy.
"I am grateful for the constant support of Romania, which has been with us through thick and thin. Together we have built roads, renovated schools and kindergartens, connected energy networks and invested in our communities. We will continue, together, to work on the European agenda of Moldova. Our path to the European Union passes through Bucharest. A path which we cover carefully for Moldova and in which we move more easily with good friends," Gherman stated.
Several Moldovan lawmakers are presently on a working visit to Bucharest.
