Moldovan government launches eDemocracy platform; Citizens from country, Diaspora to have easier access to public services
Citizens will be able to participate more easily in the decision-making process through the new digital platform, eDemocracy.gov.md, launched at the Moldova Digital Summit 2025 today. The platform will allow them to submit petitions, ask for public information or respond to surveys directly from their phone or computer, without paperwork and extra trips.
The eDemocracy platform aims to contribute to active, simple, secure and quick communication between citizens and public institutions, by implementing an integrated and digitized mechanism for submitting petitions; conducting public consultations in the form of electronic questionnaires; facilitating the collaboration of public institutions to identify solutions to community’s problems. The new platform can also be used by citizens from the Diaspora. Access is provided directly from the website http://www.edemocratie.gov.md or from the EVO application.
Launched in a piloting regime, the platform gives possibility of submitting requests to ten public institutions, including the State Chancellery, Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, Electronic Governance Agency, Information Technology and Cyber Security Service, Public Services Agency, Organization for Entrepreneurship Development, and National Agency for Regulation in Electronic Communications and Information Technology.
The list of participating authorities will be expanded on the coming period, and any central or local public authority can connect by sending a request directly from the platform or by completing the application form. Thus, citizens are encouraged to participate in surveys published on the platform, to express their opinions and preferences regarding different public services.
The implementation of the Platform for supporting participatory democracy represents a strategic priority of the digital transformation agenda, aligned with the Digital Transformation Strategy of Moldova for the years 2023-2030, meant to bring transparency, efficiency and accessibility in the relationship between the state and citizens.
The eDemocracy platform is launched by the government of Moldova; it is developed by the Electronic Governance Agency, with financial support from the Soros Moldova Foundation, as well as the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and the German Agency for International Cooperation.
