Moldova and Estonia reaffirm commitment to strengthening cooperation
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi held a farewell meeting with Ambassador of the Republic of Estonia to the Republic of Moldova Aune Kotli, who is based in Bucharest.
According to Popșoi, during the meeting he thanked the ambassador for her contribution to strengthening Moldovan-Estonian relations and for Estonia’s constant support for the Republic of Moldova’s European integration process.
The head of Moldovan diplomacy noted that in recent years bilateral cooperation has expanded through projects in areas such as cybersecurity, the digitalization of public services, and education. He also pointed out the growing interest of Estonian companies in investing in the Republic of Moldova.
Mihai Popșoi also highlighted Estonia’s contribution through development assistance programs. According to him, over the years Estonia has financed 324 projects in the Republic of Moldova, worth more than 14 million euros.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs appreciated that the official opening of the Embassy of Estonia in Chișinău, planned for early October, will help strengthen political dialogue and cooperation between the two states.
Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Estonia were established on 10 November 1992.
