Moldova, Slovenia to strengthen bilateral cooperation

Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu has had a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovenia, Tanja Fajon.

During the meeting, the officials discussed Moldova’s progress made in the process of European integration, the reforms implemented and the strengthening of the bilateral cooperation.

Speaker Igor Grosu said that the discussions had been focused on both the parliamentary agenda and the European one, as well as the current political situation in Moldova.

“Moldova and Slovenia have much in common and most importantly, we support each other, because we want the same thing: peace and prosperity for all our citizens,” Grosu said.

The officials agreed to boost the cooperation in more key areas, including the fight against corruption, strengthening democracy, economic development and enhancing security.

At the same time, the sides identified specific areas of collaboration, such as agriculture, tourism, information technologies, light industry and waste management.

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovenia Tanja Fajon is visiting Chisinau on June 10-12. The official has planned meetings with more dignitaries and will visit state institutions of Moldova.
