MPs paid final tribute to Maestro Eugen Doga
Applause for Maestro Eugen Doga resonated today in the Parliament, as a sign of gratitude for his exceptional contribution to national culture and promotion of Moldova's image worldwide.
Speaker Igor Grosu emphasized the essential role that Eugen Doga's music has played over the years.
“Eugen Doga, in all these years, has shown us through music the beauty of life, of the native land, and has carried Moldova's fame worldwide, with dignity and grace. Let us ensure that Eugen Doga's music never dies,” said Grosu.
Eugen Doga passed away on 3 June 2025, at the age of 88. He was one of the greatest contemporary Romanian composers, author of over 200 symphonic works, film music, children's songs and choral works.
Eugen Doga was declared Man of Millennium by UNESCO, and in 2007, his music was included in the world cultural heritage. He received distinctions and titles in Moldova, Romania, as well as in other countries.
