The head of state, Maia Sandu, and President of Romania Nicusor Dan today laid flowers at the monument to Stephen the Great and Holy in the center of Chisinau. This symbolic gesture shows the shared respect for the history and values that unite the two banks of the Prut River.
In the capital's center, the two officials were greeted by citizens who came to meet them.
"Together with President Nicusor Dan, we thanked the people for defending democracy and national dignity. Thank you, dear people, for such warm support!" said Maia Sandu.
For his part, President of Romania Nicusor Dan emphasized that the two states "are stronger together".
President of Romania Nicusor Dan today pays his first official visit to Chisinau. He has discussions with the head of state, Maia Sandu, Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu and Prime Minister Dorin Recean.
