Moldovan parliament speaker says Moldova, Romania move together with confidence on European path, for better or for worse

Moldova and Romania move together with confidence on the European path, for better and for worse! Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu today made statements to this effect, following an official meeting with President of Romania Nicusor Dan, in Chisinau.

The speaker said that, through their vote at Romania's presidential elections, Moldovan citizens had shown that they love Romania and want to see it remain strong, united and free.

“We proved unity, patriotism and a deep wish to be part of the great European family when, at the presidential elections of both countries, we voted for presidents with European visions and democratic commitments. This is a victory for our citizens, who chose freedom - because we know what it losing it means. Through those more than 180,000 Moldovans with Romanian citizenship who voted in these elections, we showed that we love Romania and want to see it continue as a strong, united and free older brother of Moldova on our European way,” Igor Grosu said.

The official emphasized that the authorities of Moldova and Romania would continue to implement bilateral projects for the benefit of citizens on both sides of the Prut River.

“Thank you, Mr. President of Romania, Nicusor Dan, for this visit and for today’s valuable discussions. Together, we will continue to care for the people on both sides of the Prut River and build bridges, roads, modern schools, connected universities, secure electricity lines and gas networks, successful businesses, jobs, and strong institutions. The European future depends on all of us - on our unity and work. Let us continue to believe in Moldova and Romania!” Igor Grosu highlighted.
