Moldovan PM has meeting with Romania's president

We act as partners, as friends, for a common commitment - to increase the number of bilateral projects that bring concrete benefits to citizens on both sides of the Prut River. Prime Minister Dorin Recean has made statements to this effect, following a meeting with the President of Romania Nicusor Dan, in Chisinau.

PM Dorin Recean emphasized that President of Romania Nicusor Dan had chosen to come to Chisinau on his first official visit, in order to reaffirm the close connection and mutual support between Moldova and Romania.

"We act as partners, as friends, for a common commitment - to increase the number of bilateral projects that bring concrete benefits to citizens on both sides of the Prut River – from road infrastructure to energy connectivity and economic development. We work together to modernize border crossing points, collaborate in the fields of education and research, combat disinformation and defend peace and democracy in the region," said Dorin Recean.

The official noted that Romania assisted Moldova with experience and concrete support, but above all, with "a strong voice in Brussels for Moldova's future in the European family".

"I thank Romania and Nicusor Dan for our sincere friendship. The European Union will be stronger with a free Moldova, which can contribute to peace on the continent and to European unity," stated Dorin Recean.

President of Romania Nicusor Dan is on his first official visit to Chisinau today. He had discussions with the head of state, Maia Sandu, Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu and Prime Minister Dorin Recean.
