Government urges citizens to attend Sovereignty March

Government urges all citizens to participate in Sovereignty March, an initiative launched today by head of state Maia Sandu. The event will be organized on the evening of June 23, in the context of marking the 35th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Sovereignty.

Government's spokesperson Daniel Vodă said today that the event is an opportunity to honor the courage of those who, in 1990, chose freedom, dignity, and Moldova's right to decide its own destiny.

“The Government of the Republic of Moldova supports President Maia Sandu's initiative to mark 35 years since the adoption of the Declaration of Sovereignty by organizing the Sovereignty March on June 23. It is a moment of profound historical significance for our country, an opportunity to honor the courage of those who in 1990 chose freedom, dignity, and the right of Moldova to decide its own destiny,” stated Daniel Vodă.

He urged citizens to join the event on June 23, along with their families, holding the tricolor in their hands and „with confidence in the European future of our country.”

“The government urges all citizens to participate in this march, alongside families, with the tricolor in hand and with confidence in the European future of our country. And on this occasion, I would like to remind you that we will meet again on June 23, at 7:00 PM, at the monument of Ion and Doina Aldea-Teodorovici on Alexei Mateevici Street to celebrate together our sovereignty, freedom, and unity. The songs of these renowned performers traveled across the whole country and resonated with this message of sovereignty, unity, and our strength as a nation, as a country,” concluded Daniel Vodă.

Maia Sandu today invited citizens to participate in the Sovereignty March, which will be organized on 23 June in the context of the 35th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Sovereignty.
