Moldovan speaker concludes working visit to Athens
In Athens, we had good discussions with the Greek authorities and received assurances of support in everything we do, especially in the European integration. The message was conveyed today by Speaker Igor Grosu, who concluded the official visit to Greece.
The official said he is honored to be in Athens at the invitation of his Greek counterpart, Nikitas Michail Kaklamanis.
“We are at the end of the official visit made at the invitation of the President of the Greek Parliament. I thanked for all the accepted initiatives. I am referring to the five weekly flights connecting our countries for the benefit of citizens and business. I thanked for the Social Security Agreement and the Agreement on recognition of driving licenses. In June, the document will be published in the Greek Official Journal and will come into force. I also invited my counterpart to Chisinau and thanked him for the extraordinary hospitality,” said Igor Grosu.
Additionally, the speaker held a meeting with Moldovans settled in Athens.
“I cannot help but mention the very good meeting with the diaspora. We had two meetings. Our citizens are very well connected to everything happening in the Republic of Moldova, with a longing for home and the desire to help us in the process of European integration,” said Igor Grosu.
Grosu is paying an official visit to the Greek Parliament on June 1-4. The agenda included meetings with the leadership of the Legislature in Athens, Nikitas Michail Kaklamanis. It also includes discussions with Greece-Moldova friendship group president Vasileios Giogiakas and its members.
