Moldovan parliament takes note of MP's resignation

The parliament has taken note of the resignation of MP Alexandru Trubca, elected on the list of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS). A draft decision to this effect was adopted today by 58 MPs.

Alexandru Trubca submitted his resignation on July 10, this year. He explained that issues related to his economic activity were affecting the image and credibility of the party to which he belongs. Trubca also specified that he would remain a member of the party and would continue his political activity in the formation.

Also today, the parliament declared a parliamentary mandate vacant, which belongs to the Action and Solidarity Party. In accordance with the Law on the Status of the Member of Parliament, the vacant mandate will be assigned to the next substitute candidate on the electoral competitor’s list.

Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu has earlier said that Roman Rosca is to take over the vacant MP mandate following the resignation of Alexandru Trubca. Roman Rosca previously held the position of MP and is currently Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration.
