Regulation on establishment of polling stations abroad and for voters from left bank of Dniester to be amended
Regulation on establishment of polling stations abroad and for voters from the left bank of the Dniester is to be amended. The process has been initiated by the Central Electoral Commission (CEC).
According to the CEC, the initiative is necessary in the context of legislative amendments regarding identity documents in the national passport system, which came into force on March 31, 2025.
Thus, the amendments aim to exclude information about domicile and temporary residence from the content of internal identity documents. This would allow eliminating the need to change documents and creating technical conditions for the procedure of changing domicile or temporary residence to be accessible, with the service also deliverable digitally, as well as introducing the identity card as a basic document in circulation.
Interested people can send proposals, suggestions and opinions regarding the draft decision in writing to the Central Electoral Commission until June 6, 2025, including via mail at the address: Republic of Moldova, MD-2012, Chișinău, Vasile Alecsandri street, no. 119 or via email: info@cec.md.
