Spokesman for government says cleaning of justice system started in recent years in Moldova

A crucial process has been initiated in the last four years: the cleansing of the justice system. As a result of the initiation of the evaluation process, 140 judges have left the judiciary. Among them, 100 judges left in 2023-2024, during which the extraordinary external evaluation took place. The spokesman for the government, Daniel Voda, has made statements to this effect at the show, The Fourth Power.

‘’In the last four years, this administration has begun a crucial process: cleaning the justice system. This is an undeniable merit. Despicable people, who annulled the democratic elections in Chișinău, who stole and built luxury castles in the city, are no longer in the system,’’ said Daniel Voda.

According to the government’s spokesperson, the justice reform has generated an irreversible process of cleansing the system.

'This justice reform, which is criticized and naturally will be criticized, has generated an irreversible beginning of cleansing the system. Yes, certain frustrations, disappointments and discontent are accumulated, but the path is the right one, because people deserve fair justice,’’ the official said.

Daniel Voda emphasized that the vetting had started at the top - from the higher courts, the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) - where all decisions reached. 'It continued further. Now we see clear signs: prosecutors about whom there are indications that they might have unjustified assets have submitted applications on resignation,’’ noted Daniel Voda.

At the same time, the spokesman for the government stressed that Moldova had a new generation of specialists in the field who are growing in reformed institutions.

'But we also have a new generation - honest, beautiful, capable young people - who are growing in the reformed institutions. There are also nice people in the system. They need courage and confidence that this reform is for them and people who want justice to be served,’’ Daniel Voda added.
