Youth of Moldova will benefit from training and career guidance services to facilitate employment. The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection (MMPS), with the support of the German government, has launched the National Campaign for Youth Employment Promotion.
The aim of the initiative is to bring young people closer to the services and opportunities provided by the National Employment Agency (ANOFM). Therefore, in the coming months, various activities will be organized across the country: career orientation camps, information sessions, career guidance and festivals dedicated to young people, as well as an online campaign with relevant messages tailored to the needs and language of the young generation.
“One in four young people of Moldova is not employed and is not pursuing any form of education or training. Almost 140,000 young people are in a transitional period, where they need guidance, confidence and support. It is our responsibility to provide them with these bench marks,” said Alexei Buzu, Minister of Labor and Social Protection.
German Ambassador to Moldova Margret Uebber emphasized the importance of a good professional perspective for youth in their own country.
“The future of Moldova is in Europe, and this future can be actively shaped, especially by you, the youth of Moldova. An important prerequisite in this regard is a good professional perspective in your own country. Good jobs for young people create more than just economic security and chances for each individual, but also development prospects for the entire country,” said the official.
The campaign is part of the project to support youth employment, implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), in partnership with MMPS. The joint actions contribute to the development of a more inclusive labor market, strengthening trust in public institutions and supporting a prosperous future for the youth of Moldova.
