About 200 Moldovan kindergartens restored with support of First Lady's charity foundation
Chisinau, 25 January /MOLDPRES/ - About 200 kindergartens have been restored with the support of the charity foundation „Din Suflet” (From the Heart) of First lady Galina Dodon. A member of the foundation’s council, Rita Manole, made statements to this effect at a news conference today.
According to Manole, about 75,000 people have been assisted by the foundation within diverse projects. “A national project on the promotion of a sound lifestyle has been launched and carried out. The project sees construction of sports complexes in rural settlements from Moldova, which includes: football, basketball, volleyball fields, field tennis, apparatus for gymnastics and fitness, playgrounds for children and leisure places for elderly people. The works were started in ten of the biggest rural settlements of Moldova,” Manole said.
At the same time, the members of the foundation’s council said that, in 2017, a national project on support in the schooling process had been carried out. “In this respect, more than 8,000 school bags with school supplies were offered to children from socially vulnerable families, families with many children and one-parent families. Also, projects for elderly people, young talents, families with many children and persons at risk were implemented. At the same time, support was provided to ten children with hearing deficiencies,” Rita Manole said.
Priorities of the foundation for this year were unveiled at the conference too. “We are set to provide financial support for the restoration of 500 kindergartens. We will continue promoting a sound lifestyle by the construction of another 100 sports complexes. We will also offer 10,000 school bags with supplies for children,” Manole noted.
The charity foundation „Din Suflet” (From the Heart) of First Lady Galina Dodon was set up in February 2017.
