DOC // Moldovan head of state signs presidential decree on awarding state distinctions to personalities in culture, education, medicine, science sectors

President Maia Sandu has awarded state distinctions to several personalities who have excelled in fields such as culture, sports, education, public administration, medicine, economy, and science. The official signed today a presidential decree to this effect, reports MOLDPRES.

According to the document, the 'Order of the Republic' was awarded to former president of the country, Nicolae Timofti, deputy Oazu Nantoi, and Minister of Health, Ala Nemerenco.

Additionally, the 'Order of Honor' was awarded to several individuals including: professor at Moldova State University, Elena Aramă, judoka Adil Osmanov, judoka Ion Basoc, coaches Ilie Buiuc and Mihail Buiuc, president of the Weightlifting Federation of the Republic of Moldova, Antonio Conflitti, president of the Judo Federation of the Republic of Moldova, Andrei Golban, general consul of the Republic of Moldova in Istanbul, Turkey, Sergiu Gurduza, president of the National Congress of Ukrainians in the Republic of Moldova, Dmitri Lecariev.

The 'Civic Merit' medal was awarded to the director of the Oncology Institute, Ruslan Baltaga, director of the Center of Excellence in Energy and Electronics, Mariana Bârlădean, composers Vladimir Beleaev and Vladimir Ciolac, director of the Institute of Microbiology and Biotechnology of the Technical University of Moldova, Liliana Cepoi, state secretary of the Ministry of Education and Research, Valentina Olaru, etc.

By the same decree, the 'Nicolae Testemițanu' Medal was awarded to several medical staff across the country's localities. Additionally, the honorary title 'Artist of the People' was conferred to the chief painter at the 'Licurici' Republican Puppet Theater, Vladimir Cantor, university lecturer at the Academy of Music, Theater, and Fine Arts, Nelli Cozaru, university professor at the Academy of Music, Theater, and Fine Arts, Vera Mereuță, etc.

The honorary title 'Master in Art' was awarded to the instrumentalist from the 'Serghei Lunchevici' National Philharmonic, Viorica Agafița, instrumental artists at the 'Serghei Lunchevici' National Philharmonic, Dinu Caitaz and Ghenadie Cojocaru, film producer Sergiu Cumatrenco, choreographer of the folk dance ensemble 'Hora Mare', Denis Gînga, artistic director of the folklore ensemble 'Pe-un picior de plai', Ecaterina Ursu, etc.

Additionally, the honorary title 'Emeritus Person' was conferred to the director and director of the musical drama theater 'Cupidon' in Drochia, Petru Ababei, founder of the Museum of the History of Avdarma village, Ignat Cazmalî, director of the Gagauz National Theater 'D. The title 'Master Craftsman' was awarded to sculptor Vasile Adam and luthier Nicolae Dron.

The distinctions were awarded as a sign of high appreciation for the outstanding merits towards the state and people of the Republic of Moldova, for the long and prolific work, exemplary professionalism and dedication in the performance of duties, as well as for the contribution to the development of society and the promotion of national values.
