Speaker pays official visit to Czech Republic

Speaker Igor Grosu is paying an official visit to the Czech Republic on 22–23 June. The visit is undertaken at the invitation of his Czech counterpart, the President of the Senate, Miloš Vystrčil.

The agenda of the visit includes meetings with officials of the Czech Republic, as well as discussions on strengthening Moldovan–Czech bilateral relations, interparliamentary cooperation, and support granted to the Republic of Moldova in the process of European integration.

During the visit, Igor Grosu will have a meeting with the President of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, Miloš Vystrčil, followed by a joint press conference. In addition, Grosu will hold talks with the President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, Tomio Okamura. The program also includes a meeting with members of the Interparliamentary Friendship Group, where opportunities for developing cooperation between the legislatures of the two countries will be discussed.

At the Government, Grosu will hold discussions with the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Andrej Babiš, and with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the Czech Republic, Jaromír Zůna.

During the visit to the Czech Republic, the official will also attend the screening of the film made by Czech director Petr Voldán, “Landmarks of Moldova”, a production dedicated to the Republic of Moldova and to promoting the country’s image abroad.
