European leaders to be served with best dishes of Moldovan cuisine at EPC Summit
Chisinau, 31 May /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova’s gastronomic heritage will be promoted at the Summit of the European Political Community (EPC Summit), due to be held in Moldova on 1 June. Those about 50 presidents, prime ministers and high-ranking European officials will serve traditional Moldovan dishes, cooked according to reinterpreted recipes. The menu was tested by the best cookery specialists and the dishes will be made exclusively out of native products, in order to point out the authenticity and quality of the Moldovan ingredients.
The menu due to be served to the guests of the event was presented by the spokesman for the government, Daniel Voda, today. Thus, as appetizer, the guests will taste traditional leaf and cabbage rolls, with padding of vegetables stewed in Moldovan style, covered with wine of the Saperavi varieties and smoked cream.
Another dish of the menu is also the Luck Wheel – a stew with fresh aubergines and tomatoes, with Rara Neagra wine and black garlic on them.
The guests will also taste dumplings with pickled pumpkin and crème of goat’s cheese, sauce of lovage and pike caviar, as well as Mamaliga stuffed with bag cheese, smoked pot cheese and black truffles.
Another dish served by the international officials will be potato rolls stuffed with snack cooked as at Bulboaca, with smoked pepper, with sunflower seeds and green chive.
For the main dish, cooks took into account the guests’ preferences. Thus, vegetarian dishes with fish and meat will be cooked. They will serve also lamb tenderloin in Moldovan style with cabbage leaves. ‘’Vegetarians will eat trout with cabbage leaves and fish lovers will serve sturgeon in Moldovan style with cabbage leaves,’’ Daniel Voda also said.
As for the sweets, those over 50 high-ranking guests will serve the traditional Baba Neagra with ice-cream and Merlot wine, with vanilla sauce, jelly of grapes juice and an Ice Wine from 2018.
On 1 June, Moldova will host the EPC Summit, which will bring together about 50 presidents, prime ministers and high-ranking European officials. The summit will take place at the Mimi Castle from the Bulboaca village, central Anenii Noi district, situated some 35 km far from Chisinau.
