EVO to become single access point for all digital public services
The integrated portal EVO will be launched by the end of this year and will bring together all online public services intended for citizens, entrepreneurs, and diaspora in one place. The Electronic Governance Agency (AGE) will ensure the continuous development and completion of the EVO ecosystem, with an initial investment of about 1.5 million lei, aimed at developing the infrastructure and centralizing access to electronic services.
EVO will be an essential tool for enhancing the relationship between the state and citizens, through easier and faster access to the necessary information and documents.
According to a decision approved Wednesday by the Government, providers of electronic public services will use EVO as the core platform for offering digital services, by applying the 'single window' principle. Thus, citizens and entrepreneurs will be certain that any interaction with the state takes place in a clear, uniform, and user-friendly framework.
The implementation of the Government's decision will be phased, and by the end of 2025, the first version of the consolidated portal will be launched, which will include the main modernized pages.
“With this project, we are taking a decisive step toward a more modern and efficient state, continuing the digital transformation process. EVO platform will integrate services such as servicii.gov.md, personal cabinet and EVO app, and evo.gov.md will become a unique portal through which citizens and entrepreneurs can quickly access information and obtain the necessary documents, eliminating bureaucracy and simplifying interaction with public administration,” Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Doina Nistor said.
Director of the Electronic Governance Agency Nicoleta Colomeeț said that despite the massive progress made in terms of digitalization, citizens still face difficulties in accessing public services due to their fragmentation.
“Through this decision, we are correcting and modernizing access to services, transforming EVO into a true single access point, whether from the phone, via the mobile app, or on web,” mentioned Nicoleta Colomeeț.
Through EVO, users will have a unified experience of interaction with the state, including simplified access to state information resources and essential digital services, such as digital identity, electronic payments, authentication, and electronic signature, official notifications.
EVO is the integrated governmental application that simplifies citizen access to public services. It was launched on June 6, 2024, and offers access to digital documents, information about citizens and businesses, the ability to make payments for various services, and now the option of authorizations. For access to all EVO functionalities, citizens need an electronic signature.
According to MDED data, currently, 70% of public services intended for companies are available online. Thus, out of the 407 public services dedicated to entrepreneurs and business owners, 284 can already be accessed in digital format.
