Moldovans' community from Norway marks Wine Day at museum in Minnesund

The Moldovans’ community from Norway marked the Wine Day on October 4, 2025, with an event organized at the 'La Bunei' (At Grandparents) Museum in Minnesund. The event had double significance, as it coincided with the official inauguration of the 'Bestemurs Gård Forening' ('Grandmother's Yard') Association, an initiative dedicated to promoting Moldovan traditions and culture in the Nordic region.

The event was organized by Aurelia Dub, founder of the museum and the association, who aimed to bring the spirit of the Moldovan wine’s holiday to the heart of Norway and strengthen the relations within the community’s members.

‘’We wanted to bring home, to Norway, a part of Moldova's warmth and hospitality – through music, food and wine. Our community deserves such moments of closeness and identity,’’ said Aurelia Dub.

The event was attended by community members, Norwegian guests and representatives from the Embassy of Moldova in the Kingdom of Sweden and the Embassy of Romania in the Kingdom of Norway, who supported the initiative.

The atmosphere was enlivened by artists Ana-Maria Țurcanu, Ion Neguța, and Nicolae Vremea, and visitors enjoyed tastings of traditional dishes, pies baked in wooden ovens and presentations about the wine preparation process.

The event was accomplished with the support of the Trans Moldova – Norway team, who ensured the transport of grapes for the festival and the most beautiful moments were captured by photographer Alexandru Costin.
