
Head of Floresti-based Shor organization to face trial for complicity in illegal financing of millions
The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (PA) informs that it has sent to court the criminal file concerning the president of the Floresti territorial organization of the Shor Political Party, accused of complicity in accepting the illegal financing of the party by an organized crime ring.
According to the Prosecutor's Office, during July–October 2022, as a local leader, he allegedly coordinated the organization's activities, knowing that the party was illegally financed. In complicity with the party's leadership - vice presidents, treasurer and couriers, he allegedly contributed to the acceptance of illicit funds totaling over 8 million lei, used for the party's political activities and organizing protests.
The defendant did not admit his guilt. The file has been sent for examination to the Chisinau Court. If found guilty, he faces a fine between 57,500 and 92,500 lei or imprisonment from two to seven years.
