Researchers from 18 countries participate in international conference on nanotechnologies, biomedical engineering in Chisinau

Chisinau is hosting the 7th edition of the International Conference Nanotechnologies and Biomedical Engineering (ICNBME-2025) on October 7-10, with over 200 researchers from 18 countries participating. The event addresses current topics, such as nanotechnologies and nanomaterials, biomaterials and regenerative medicine, bioinformatics, e-health, telemedicine, diagnostic technologies, and personalized treatments.

"I am very pleased to see students alongside PhD candidates and researchers. We aim to develop cross-border collaboration opportunities, and such conferences will become a tradition in various scientific fields," said Dan Perciun, Minister of Education and Research.

Viorel Bostan, Rector of the Technical University of Moldova, emphasized the interdisciplinarity of modern sciences and the high quality of the presented works: "I am sure that this event will create new bridges and discussion platforms among specialists and institutions."

The conference also features two Nobel laureates: Prof. Hiroshi Amano, Nobel Prize winner in Physics (2014), for his contributions to the development of blue light LEDs, and Prof. James E. Rothman, Nobel Prize winner in Medicine (2013), known for his discoveries on vesicular transport mechanisms in cells.

The organization of ICNBME-2025 in Chisinau strengthens Moldova's position as a center for interdisciplinary research in Central and Eastern Europe, facilitating partnerships between universities, research institutes, and industry, as well as the application of advanced technologies in health and biomedical engineering. The event is held in partnership with the Society of Biomedical Engineering of Moldova, the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy and the International Federation of Medical and Biological Engineering (IFMBE).
