Independence Day of Moldova marked at World Expo in Osaka

The Independence Day of Moldova will also be marked at the country's pavilion at the World Expo in Osaka, staged in Japan during April 13-October 13. It has been visited so far by hundreds of thousands of people from around the world, who have discovered Moldova's culture, traditions and innovations.

The government's spokesperson, Daniel Voda, today said that the event would be celebrated in Osaka on August 31, in the context of marking Moldova's Independence Day and Romanian Language Day.

"The Republic of Moldova is preparing for its day at the World Expo in Osaka.  Moldova presents itself to the world with an international business card, that also sparks interest, including for potential economic partners. On August 31, on Romanian Language Day, Moldova’s Day will also be at the World Expo in Osaka. Preparations are in full swing. More events will be organized at this international event, including locally, with the Diaspora from Japan. The goal is to promote the image and profile of our country in the Land of the Rising Sun," emphasized Daniel Voda.

He noted that, so far, Moldova's pavilion at Expo Osaka had been visited by hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world.

"Moldova continues to attract attention and sympathy from visitors at the World Expo from Japan, Osaka. In the first months after opening, we have had hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over the world, who passed through our national pavilion, discovering the culture, traditions and innovations of our country," said Daniel Voda.

The exhibition is held between April 13 and October 13, with the title, Designing the Future Society for Our Lives. It brings together ideas and projects that can change the world. The country's pavilion is modern, interactive and colorful. It presents a combination of authentic cultural heritage and future perspectives of our country.

"Visitors can discover authentic culture and crafts, modern technologies and innovative products, a friendly country, open and connected to the future," concluded Daniel Voda.

Moldova's participation in Expo 2025 Osaka aims to strengthen its international presence by leveraging business development opportunities, expanding collaboration networks and promoting national culture.

Visitors can taste local wines and traditional dishes in the Casa Mare space at Moldova's pavilion, try on traditional costumes and listen to folk music, explore tourist locations through a teleportation-like experience and learn about investment opportunities.

Over 160 countries are participating in the Osaka 2025 World Expo and about 28 million visitors are expected during six months.
