Exhibition by Ukrainian photographer to be inaugurated at Moldovan parliament's headquarters
An exhibition titled, The Unyielding: Light Through Darkness, signed by Ukrainian photographer Serhii Himiuș, will be inaugurated in the parliament’s hall hallway on August 22.
Serhii Himiuș, aged 33, spent his childhood in Moldova. Severely injured in 2022 during a humanitarian mission, Serhii turned his experience and suffering into a powerful visual testimony of human resilience. His photographs depict not only the traces of war's destruction, but also the faces of those who, despite their losses, maintain their dignity and hope. Each picture stands as a testimony to courage, solidarity and the power to remain unyielding in the toughest of times.
The exhibition is organized in partnership with the Embassy of Ukraine in Moldova, the Ministry of Culture and the National Museum of History of Moldova, in the context of Ukraine's Independence Day, marked on August 24. It will be hosted by the parliament till August 26.
The event's inauguration is expected to be attended by Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, Ukraine's Ambassador to Paun Rohovei, Minister of Culture Sergiu Prodan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popsoi, Director of the National Museum of History of Moldova Eugen Sava and the exhibition's author Serhii Himiuș. An artistic moment will be presented by the choir Lia-Ciocârlia.
