Two political parties, three potential independent candidates of Moldova submit documents to Central Electoral Commission for registration in electoral race
The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today received five applications for the registration of candidates for the position of MP for the parliamentary elections due on September 28, 2025.
Our Party submitted the application for the registration of the list of 103 candidates. Also, the list of seven candidates for the position of deputy was submitted by the Movement of Professionals "Speranța Nadejda" (Hope).
Also, three potential independent candidates have submitted documents and subscription lists for registration in the electoral race: Natalia Clevadi, Igor Ianac, and Tatiana Cretu.
According to the procedure, the CEC is to establish the preliminary order in the ballot paper. Two of the applicants were absent from the lot drawing procedure. In this case, the Commission set a new meeting for August 20, at 09:00, to organize the lot drawing. If neither applicant comes on August 20, the lot drawing will take place without their presence.
The Commission has seven days to review the files and issue a decision on the matter.
Meanwhile, at the expiration of the documents’ submission period, three potential independent candidates who requested subscription lists to collect supporting signatures did not submit any documents to the Commission for review. One potential independent candidate who requested the issuance of subscription lists did not come to take them from the Commission, while another 10 returned the subscription lists without requesting registration as an electoral contender.
Thus, the Commission draws attention to the fact that subscription lists issued must be returned by the individuals who requested them from the Commission and did not return them before the expiration of the period of documents’ reception.
The electoral campaign for registered candidates will start on August 29, 2025.
