Moldovan Education Ministry warns about so-called 'circular' on setting of information panels
The Ministry of Education and Research (MEC) warns teachers and the public about the so-called 'circular,' which allegedly contains provisions for setting up information panels and disciplinary sanctions applicable for non-compliance. This document was not issued by the institution.
The Ministry emphasized that the document disseminated to educational institutions was fake and has no legal value, being distributed ‘’with the goal to mislead the public and radicalize the society.’’
‘’We ask teachers, parents and students to verify information only from official sources: the MEC website: www.mec.gov.md, the official Facebook page of the Ministry of Education and Research and press releases issued through institutional channels. The Ministry will notify the competent authorities, in order to investigate the dissemination of this fake document,’’ MEC stated.
The institution also warned that ‘’we are on the eve of an election campaign that will be full of fakes and scare tactics,’’; therefore, it is essential ‘’to stay clear-headed and use critical thinking.’’ Thus, MEC urged citizens to handle such information cautiously and to get informed only from official sources.
