Moldova's Civil Aviation Authority: three Ukrainian aircrafts temporarily relocated to Marculesti Airport for maintenance

The Civil Aviation Authority (AAC) informs that, on the evening of August 13, 2025, three aircraft registered in Ukraine landed at Marculesti International Airport, where they will be temporarily kept and will undergo maintenance work.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority, the planes, meant for search and rescue missions, made the flight based on an authorization issued by the AAC, with diplomatic coordination and in collaboration with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development.

According to the cited source, the temporary relocation is taking place following an official request sent by the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs on July 21, 2025, which concerns five aircraft used in humanitarian and emergency missions: one Antonov An-26, three Antonov An-32P, and one Antonov An-32B.

AAC reiterates that the placement of the aircraft at Marculesti Airport is made in compliance with the legal framework, and the maintenance work will be carried out exclusively by authorized organizations, based on legal contracts concluded with the aircrafts’ operators.
