Moldovan Foreign Affairs Ministry says Embassy of Moldova in Tel Aviv has no information on Moldovan Citizens injured in attacks in Israel

The Embassy of Moldova in Tel Aviv does not yet have official confirmation from Israeli authorities regarding any Moldovan citizens injured following last night's rocket attacks.

The Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) has made statements to this effect, after reports appeared in the media suggesting that at least one Moldovan was injured in the attacks in Israel.

The MAE emphasized that the diplomatic team in Tel Aviv was in constant contact with the relevant authorities, in order to verify the information that appeared in the press.

“Up to this moment, the Embassy of Moldova in Tel Aviv has no official confirmation from Israeli authorities regarding the existence of any Moldovan citizens injured following last night's rocket attack. The diplomatic team is in constant contact with the relevant authorities, in order to verify the information that appeared in the press,” said the MAE.

Ambassador of Moldova to the State of Israel Alexandr Roitman on June 14 said that no victims or injuries among Moldovan citizens in Israel had been reported, following the attacks on this state.

At the same time, the Ambassador sent a message to Moldovan citizens in Israel. The official said that the security situation in the region stayed complicated and he urged Moldovan citizens from this state to comply with the security instructions issued by Israeli authorities, to avoid unnecessary travel and to stay near bomb shelters.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova issued a maximum-level travel alert on June 13 - Avoid all travel - for the State of Israel, in the context of the security situation in the Middle East. Additionally, a Crisis Cell has been activated.

On June 14, Iran and Israel exchanged rockets and airstrikes, following the extensive offensive launched by Israel on 13 June against Tehran, in order to prevent it from developing nuclear weapons.
