Over 200 resident physicians, PhD students to be trained on using telemedicine, new technologies in daily work in Moldova

The Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy (USMF) launches the Future HealthTech project – an initiative aimed at integrating modern technologies into the medical training and practice process in Moldova.

The project is coordinated by the World Health Organization (WHO) and USMF Nicolae Testemitanu, and is implemented in partnership with the Moldovan Association of Medical Tourism (ATMM).

The initiative focuses on the use of artificial intelligence (AI), telemedicine and augmented reality in such fields as interventional cardiology, mental health and urology.

This year, more events will be organized focusing on the training of physicians and supporting the creation of start-ups in the digital health sector. For example, FutureCardio, held in June, is a summer school in interventional cardiology, featuring practical sessions of AI-assisted echocardiographic analysis.

At the same time, FutureMental Health, which will take place in next July, includes sessions dedicated to diagnosing and treating mental health issues and FutureUro, scheduled for August, provides training in robotic surgery and other technological applications in urology.

In total, over 200 resident physicians and PhD students will benefit from the training sessions throughout this summer. The project will contribute to the creation of an international network of experts and the attraction of investments in the medical sector of Moldova.
