Over 60 calls to 112 concerning drones, unidentified aircrafts recorded in Moldova in past two months

More than 60 cases involving drones and unidentified aircrafts were reported to the National Single Emergency Call Service 112 in August and September 2026.

According to the service’s data, the number of such reports has recently increased, amid growing public attention to flying objects noticed in the sky or identified on the ground.

Since the launch of the 112 Service to date, 143 cases involving drones and other unidentified flying objects have been registered through the single emergency number and referred to specialized services.

In August alone, 22 cases were recorded, while in September the number reached 39, bringing the total to 61 reports over the two months.

The 112 Service says that each alert is received and assessed by operators, after which the information is forwarded to the competent specialized authorities for intervention and verification.

If they notice a drone or unidentified aircraft and believe it may pose a danger, citizens are urged to immediately call the single emergency number 112.

Call operators should be provided, whenever possible, with the exact location of the observation, the direction of travel, the approximate time and the visible characteristics of the aircraft, as well as any other information that could help assess the situation.
