Preparing of Moldovan authorities to access EU funds: Poland’s experience presented in Chisinau
The State Chancellery, in partnership with the Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy of Poland, on October 1 organized a workshop in Chisinau on preparing central, local, and regional public authorities to implement the EU cohesion policy. The event was dedicated to the members of the Working Group for Chapter 22, Regional policy and coordination of structural instruments, and representatives of local public authorities.
The event was opened by Deputy Secretary General of the Government Emilia Cebotari and State Secretary of the Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy of Poland Jacek Karnowski.
In her address, Deputy Secretary General of the Government Emilia Cebotari emphasized that a stronger and more capable public administration was essential for Moldova to make effective use of European funds in the perspective of accession.
Representatives of the State Chancellery also presented developments in local public administration reform, while Polish experts and representatives of local and regional administrations of Poland shared their country’s experience in accessing European funds, as well as how local, regional and central levels cooperate to plan development and use resources efficiently.
The training is part of the actions aimed at strengthening the institutional capacities of Moldova in preparation for the implementation of the European Union’s cohesion policy and the effective management of European funds.
