Prime Minister Vasile Tofan has had a meeting with Ambassador of Austria to Moldova Martina Hermann. The discussions focused on accelerating Moldova’s European path, the government’s reform agenda and the development of economic and investment cooperation between the two countries.

The PM appreciated Austria’s firm support for Moldova’s European path and emphasized that it was essential for the country to advance in the accession negotiations and open all clusters by the end of this year.

“We now have a real window of opportunity that we must capitalize on. We are advancing with ambitious reforms and want this effort to be accompanied by concrete progress in the process of accession to the European Union,” said the prime minister.

Ambassador Martina Hermann reiterated Austria’s support for Moldova’s European path and praised the authorities’ efforts to implement reforms.

The sides also discussed expanding economic cooperation and the interest of Austrian companies in investing in Moldova, including in projects under the Growth Plan. Austria is among the main foreign investors of Moldova, with more than 90 companies with Austrian capital operating in the country.
