Over 95,000 applications for energy compensation submitted on first day of registration launch

Over 95,000 applications for energy compensation during the cold season were submitted on the first day of registration launch on the platform http://compensatii.gov.md. The data was presented by Minister of Labor and Social Protection Natalia Plugaru.

Out of the total number, 38,079 applications were submitted with the help of registrars.

At the same time, Green Line employees provided assistance to 2,573 people who called in for questions and clarifications.

The government is also providing energy compensations this year for the cold season, which includes November–March. The application process for energy compensation began on 3 November.

Compensations will be offered as cash payments, paid monthly. Beneficiaries can receive the money on their social card if they also receive other state benefits, at any post office in the country, or in a bank account opened in the name of the main applicant.

The information system will individually calculate the value of the compensation for each household, based on family income, the number of members, and their status (minor, person with disabilities, student), ensuring that support is provided proportionally with each family's needs.

Household consumers can benefit from compensations if they heat their home using natural gas, thermal energy, electric energy, or solid fuel, such as wood, coal, pellets, or briquettes. This year, the registration procedure remains the same. The application process is exclusively done on the government website compensatii.gov.md.

Help at the Meter program offers, for the fourth consecutive year, energy compensation to vulnerable households for November-March. For the cold season 2024-2025, authorities have allocated a budget of 2.69 billion lei, of which 1.15 billion lei were provided by partner countries, predominantly EU members. In total, over 760,000 families, or about 1.4 million people, benefited from financial support in the previous season.

Additionally, all families in the country benefit throughout the year from electricity compensations to cover tariff increases applied last winter.
