Delegation of Chamber of Commerce and Industry on economic mission in Brussels

Strengthening economic partnerships and promoting local companies in the European market are the main objectives of an economic mission to Brussels carried out by a delegation from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova.

The delegation is led by CCI president Sergiu Harea, and consists of representatives from several member companies of the chamber institution.

The mission takes place from November 3-6 and began with a series of official meetings. The first visit was to the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in the Kingdom of Belgium, where the delegation was received by Ambassador Viorel Cibotaru. Discussions focused on the evolution of Moldova-Belgium trade relations and identifying new areas of cooperation.

In this context, Sergiu Harea proposed organizing Moldova Presents in Belgium exhibition of local products, as well as attracting Belgian companies to the events Made in Moldova, Local Product and Pro-Industry conference, for experience exchange in the strategic areas of national industry.

Subsequently, the delegation met with Daniela Morari, Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union. Discussions focused on the Growth Plan for the Republic of Moldova launched by the European Commission, emphasizing support for the agro-industrial sector and energy efficiency projects.

In the coming days, the delegation will participate in the 7th edition of the European Parliament of Enterprises (EPE), organized by Eurochambres - the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry, where the challenges and opportunities of the European and international business environment will be debated.

The European Union remains the main trade partner and investor in the Republic of Moldova. Currently, over 67% of our exports go to the EU, and over 80% of foreign direct investments in the economy also come from the EU.
